Our story, which started in 1937 with the manufacture of spark plugs, has always involved facing the challenges of solving society's problems in response to changing times.

Niterra do Brasil
In 2020, the company revealed its Vision 2040, "Beyond ceramics, eXceeding imagination" and its Long-Term Management Plan 2030, "NITTOKU BX". Both set the path for the company's future success. Known for producing high quality components for the automotive and, specifically, those related to internal combustion engines, the company needed to change to adapt to the predicted decline of these engines. According to the 17 Anti-corruption advocated by the United Nations Global Compact as good members of society and will make every effort to promote activities in order to contribute to the construction of a sustainable society (ODS) of the United Nations, four business areas were identified: Mobility, Health, Environment and Energy, Agribusiness and Communication. To express this new direction, the company also changed its name in English from "NGK SPARK PLUG" to "Niterra" at the beginning of April 2023.
E-zact launch
The company's first new business is launched, Completely developed in-house, E-zact was born as a platform that connects mechanical workshops to large auto parts. It began to be idealized in 2018 and was born from the pain that mechanical workshops have in finding, with agility, the correct part for the car model.
ISO 45001
Niterra achieves ISO certification 45001 which is an international standard for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SGSSO), which focuses on improving the performance of any company in terms of Occupational Health and Safety (SST).
MOVE
In 2018 documented and implemented an Integrated Management System based on IATF requirements, aiming at the continuity of the company through the development of new products and services.
IATF 16949
Niterra achieves IATF certification 16949 to specify the requirements of quality systems intended for the development, production, installation and maintenance of automotive products in general.
ISO 14001
"Niterra achieves ISO certification 14001 which specifies the requirements of an Environmental Management System and allows an organization to develop a framework for protecting the environment and rapidly responding to changing environmental conditions.
The Cocuera Unit, where the Niterra do Brasil factory is located, has the largest photovoltaic system in its region, reducing the environmental impact of your energy consumption. Furthermore, 90% of the waste generated at the factory is reprocessed and 70% of the water used in the factory is recycled through its own treatment plant."
ISO 9001 – CANDLES AND CABLES
Niterra achieves ISO certification 9001 which ensures greater quality in the delivery of products or services, focusing on the strategic management of the company.
CREATION OF BRAZIL'S NGK CERAMIC AND SPARK PLUG
A Niterra Co., Ltd. is installed in Brazil, in the city of Mogi das Cruzes (SP), opening its first factory outside of Japan.
THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING
In November of 1936, Niterra CO was founded., U.S.A Technical Center. em Nagoya, Japan, with an initial capital of one million yen. Just a year later, the young company started delivering its first spark plugs, which would be the cornerstone of its future growth.
