Group History
NGK do Brasil comes from an import and trade company, a Morimura Brothers, established in March 1876 hair mr. Ichitaro Morimura (Ichizaemon Morimura VI) and his brother Yutaka Morimura.
In 1904, everything started to evolve when the founders of Morimura Gumi (Grupo Morimura) criaram a Nippon Toki Gomei Gaisha (current Noritake Company Ltd.).In 1917, The Eisei Toki division separated from this company. (Sanitary Ceramics), surgindo assim a Toyo Toki Kabushuki Gaisha (current Toto).
In 1919, the Gaishi division (insulators) also broke up, dando origem à Nihon Gaishi Kabushiki Gaisha (atual NGK Insulator Co., Ltd.). E, in april of 1921, this firm started the research and development of spark plugs., been launching the first nationalized spark plug (that is, japanese) in september 1930.
in october of 1936, separou-se a divisão de Velas de Ignição NGK da Nihon Gaishi Kabushiki Gaisha e foi fundada a Nihon Tokusyu Tougyou Kabushiki Gaisha (NGK Spark Plug Co., Ltd.), first manufacturer of these spark plugs in Japan. Lastly, in august of 1959, the production unit abroad appeared, a Ceramics and Spark Plugs NGK do Brasil SA (Where, in Japanese denomination, Brasil Tokushu Tougyou Kabushiki Gaisha).
